Baja is a linear stretch of land connecting California and Mexico, bordered by the great Pacific Ocean to the west and the Gulf of California or Sea of Cortez to the east. Here a wealth of natural resources can be found including sweeping desert lands, rugged mountains peaking over 10,000 ft, arid valleys and remote beaches. This is also home to many endangered species including rare Cacti, the arroyo or southwestern toad and gorgeous black sea turtles. Here the traveler can find both adventure and solitude. Off the coast, you can watch the migration of the California Gray whale in the winter and deliver their calf in Baja. Popular vacation destinations are located in this beautiful area including the port city of Ensenada on the northern Pacific side of the Baja Peninsula as well as the world famous tourist destination of Cabo San Lucas on the southern tip of the peninsula.
